Wedding Venue Showcase - Glen Ewin Estate.

The magical moment finally comes – that big question you have been waiting for – you say “Yes” and just like that you are engaged!

Elation and joy take over. You celebrate, you tell your nearest and dearest, and  then announce to the world with a champagne toast (and carefully posed social media selfie!).

After the initial excitement the planning phase sets in and the first task is finding the perfect wedding venue.

The wedding venue piece of the wedding puzzle is probably the most important element of any wedding. It is the foundation of your event, it sets the stage for your nuptials, and acts as the back drop for your wedding photography.

Glen Ewin Estate - History

Glen Ewin Estate was one of the first Adelaide wedding venues we visited since moving to South Australia, and we still rate it as one of the best in the state. The bistro cellar door makes for a perfect environment for visitors to soak up sights of the ground, with its beautiful lake and historic buildings, before exploring walking trails and spectacular terraced hills with some 12,000 fig trees.

Founded by Horticulturist George McEwin a in 1843 Glen Ewin was one of the earliest vineyards in South Australia with the first vines of Frontignac, Black Hambro and Roussillon planted in about 1845. Wine-making activity ceased 1891 and from then until 1989 Glen Ewin Estate concentrated on the production of jams for which the property became best known - Glen Ewin Jams.

Today Glen Ewin Estate is home to Willabrand figs, hosts numerous product launches, community events and of course weddings.

The Gate House & The Pulpshed - Glen Ewin Estate

One of the best features of Glen Ewin Estate is their double venue setup which is allow two weddings to coexist on the the same day. The Gatehouse and The Pulpshed are separated by a hill and drive way providing privacy from one another.

The 100 year old Pulpshed is a large rustic venue, down in the valley of the property. Seated by old stone buildings, beautiful lawns, woodland and a stunning large lake, the Pulpshed is a truly amazing setting for your wedding.

The Gatehouse is a modern venue located near the entrance of the property. It is a bright space with panoramic views of the surrounding countryside. The room has large cafe style doors leading out to the deck area and lake, creating a tranquil alfresco feel.
